Symptoms of Chronic Fatigue, ME
Chronic fatigue affects a lot of people. There is a large difference, though, between chronic fatigue and the chronic fatigue syndrome ME. While tiredness can be brought on by a lot of different illnesses, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is the problem itself and there are a lot of other symptoms that may be present with it...
The main symptom of CFS, of course, is the fatigue. It is not relieved by sleep, which is often very difficult to get much of. General exhaustion will occur after exertion and can often last more than 24 hours. It does not have to be physical exertion, either, since mental exertion can also produce the same effect...
Along with the fatigue there will be other symptoms, too. These can be rather wide-ranging and seemingly unrelated. They may include:
- Joint pain that moves
- Enlarged lymph nodes
- Sore throat
- New types of headaches
- Muscle soreness
- Memory loss and inability to concentrate
- Exhaustion lasting more than 24 hours
- Sleep disturbances.
In addition to the fatigue, though, a person must have some of the above symptoms, too, in order to get an official diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome. There must be four of them present to be official and the fatigue and other conditions will need to be present for more than 6 months...
Another whole range of symptoms may also be present, but they are not the main ones to look for. Other people that have CFS may also have some of the following:
- Diarrhea
- A chronic cough
- Dryness of the mouth
- Chest pain
- An irregular heartbeat
- Allergies
- Night sweats
- Psychological problems
- And more!
As you can see, there are lots of symptoms that could be present. Treatment for CFS can be achieved successfully by natural means and lifestyle changes – which makes it much simpler than trying to treat all the individual symptoms!
